Job summary

Keck Medicine of USC’s USC Verdugo Hills Hospital seeks a Laboratory Services Supervisor to oversee a specific clinical laboratory section. The position includes technical and staff supervision, administrative management, and ensuring proficient staff, accurate instrument operation, maintenance, quality control, and proficiency testing.

It also entails budget management, customer service, and cross-campus communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or any equivalent science discipline.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience as a clinical laboratory scientist in an accredited laboratory.
• Writing and Verbal Communication Skills.
• Ability to supervise and instruct laboratory personnel in one or more departments of the clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Supervise technical and staff in the section.
• Manage administrative operations of the section and budget.
• Ensure staff proficiency, instrument operation, and maintenance.
• Oversee quality control, quality assurance, proficiency testing, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain intra- and interdepartmental communication and 24/7 accountability for dual campuses.
