Job summary

Gompers is seeking a DTA Program Supervisor to provide daily supervisory management for the Day Training program, overseeing operations, planning and staffing.

You will monitor safety and development of staff and members, participate in ISP meetings, and coordinate transportation needs with the Transportation Director. A strong leadership background and relevant certifications are required.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in related field and three (3) years of experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, Article 9 and Prevention and Support Training certifications may be required or provided by the employer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the daily supervisory management of the program's operations including planning, marketing, organizing, evaluating and improving service and personnel.
  • Monitor the safety, development and orientation of all program personnel and members.
  • Attend member ISP meetings, develop appropriate member ISP goals and assure they are carried out.
  • Maintain positive rapport with parents, guardians, support coordinator and all Gompers' staff.
  • Complete any special assignment given by DTA Director, VP of Operations and President/CEO.
  • Communicate with the Transportation Director to facilitate the transportation needs of the DTA program.

OBJECTIVE

Provide daily supervisory management for a Day Training Program (DTA).

If you have a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Card, along with current certificates in Article 9, Infant/Child/Adult CPR, First Aid, and Prevention and Support and pass the required background checks, you are eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $250.00**!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Provide the daily supervisory management of the program's operations including planning, marketing, organizing, evaluating and improving service and personnel.
  • Monitor the safety, development and orientation of all program personnel and members.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

AUTHORITY

  • Implement, coordinate and evaluate all program activities according to Gompers' policies, budget and management directives.
  • Initiate and be responsive in situations requiring disciplinary action. This shall include the authority to settle grievances, resolve disputes and issue oral or written warnings. Also, make effective recommendations as to the continued employment of any employee he/she supervises.
  • Evaluate the employee's performance in written form, jointly set goals with the employee and recommend wage changes for the employee.
  • Establish the work assignments and work schedule for all employees supervised and make adjustments in that schedule due to variations in the workload, absences of scheduled employees and other emergency situations.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates degree in related field and three (3) years of experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by the President/CEO. Supervisory experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to clearly communicate instructions to staff.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic calculations.

REASONING ABILITY

Able to reason through issues with staff and members and determine appropriate course of action.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • CPR, First Aid, Article 9 and Prevention and Support Training. If you do not hold these certifications, Gompers will provide training.
  • A valid Arizona Drivers License and a clear 39 month Arizona Motor Vehicle Report Required.

Changing of adult briefs and toileting is part of the job
