Job description

The Store Associate provides friendly service to customers shopping in-store and those engaging through omni-channel services. They assess the customer’s needs and, by executing the company’s customer service model, always put the customer first. Store Associates perform salesfloor and warehouse functions throughout the store, including assisting customers, merchandise placement, completing in-store and online customer transactions, processing incoming shipments, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Be empowered to meet the customer where they are and personalize their experience :

• Greet every customer with a helpful and friendly approach, read customer cues, match their needs with an elevated level of service, and meet the customer where they are at.
• Share the benefits of the DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) Loyalty program and enroll new members.
• Answer questions regarding products and complete customer transactions through either in-store sales or digital orders.

Be committed to providing a consistent positive experience :

• Maintain a neat, clean, and safe environment for internal and external customers, including clearing trash, cleaning the sales area, and organizing stockrooms.
• Receive inbound freight, prepare, and place merchandise on the sales floor per DSW standards, complete markdowns, and organize stockrooms.

Leverage in-store and digital services to bring the power of shoes to life :

• Complete fulfillment functions including locating items, inspecting product condition, packaging, and labeling for pickup/delivery.
• Use company tools to check product availability and assist customers in ordering.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Prioritize customer interactions :

• Complete transactions following policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy in cash handling and change.
• Partner with the CEL for escalated customer service issues.
• Follow all asset protection policies and procedures.
