Job description

Join to apply for the DSW Store Associate Part-Time role at Designer Brands.

The Store Associate provides friendly service to customers both in-store and through omni-channel services. Responsibilities include assessing customer needs, executing the company's customer service model, assisting with salesfloor and warehouse functions, merchandise placement, completing transactions, processing shipments, and maintaining store cleanliness. Store Associates are brand ambassadors responsible for the end-to-end customer experience, from online to in-store, and must comply with all policies and procedures.

Reports to: Store Manager and/or Customer Experience Leader (CEL).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Personalize customer experience by greeting, reading cues, and matching needs with service.
  2. Promote and enroll customers in the DSW Loyalty program.
  3. Assist customers with product questions and transactions, both in-store and online.
  4. Maintain a clean, safe environment, including tidying aisles, cash wrap, stockroom, and public areas.
  5. Receive freight, stock merchandise, complete markdowns, and organize stockroom.
  6. Fulfill online orders, locate items, inspect, package, and prepare for pickup/delivery.
  7. Process transactions accurately, follow policies, and partner with leadership on escalated issues.
  8. Participate actively in team meetings and training, support inclusivity, and respond to coaching.

Required Skills:

  • Availability to meet business needs.
  • Professional, friendly, and customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to move quickly and communicate effectively.
  • Proficient with technology (register, iPhone, calculator).
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Experience: No prior retail experience required.

The pay range is $16.75 to $17.75 per hour, with actual pay based on various factors including experience, location, and organizational needs. Benefits are additional and vary by location and role.
