General Summary

The Store Associate provides friendly service to customers shopping in-store and through omni-channel services. They assess customer needs and execute the company’s customer service model, always prioritizing the customer. Store Associates perform salesfloor and warehouse functions, including assisting customers, merchandise placement, completing transactions, processing shipments, and maintaining cleanliness and organization. They embody the company's values and act as brand ambassadors, responsible for the entire customer experience from online to in-store. Store Associates must adhere to all policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Be empowered to meet the customer where they are and personalize their experience :

• Greet every customer with a helpful and friendly approach, read cues, match needs with service, and meet the customer where they are.
• Share the benefits of the DSW Loyalty program and enroll new members.
• Answer questions about products and complete transactions via in-store sales or digital orders.

Ensure a positive and consistent customer experience :

• Maintain a neat, clean, and safe environment for customers and staff, including clearing trash, cleaning the store, and organizing merchandise.
• Receive inbound freight, prepare merchandise, and organize the stockroom according to standards.

Leverage in-store and digital services to bring shoes to life :

• Complete fulfillment functions, including locating, inspecting, packaging, and labeling products for pickup/delivery.
• Use company tools to check product availability and assist customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Prioritize customer needs :

• Complete transactions accurately, following policies and procedures.
• Ensure correct cash handling and operate the register efficiently.
• Partner with the CEL for escalated customer issues.
• Follow asset protection policies.

• Be receptive to coaching and feedback.
