Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Be empowered to meet the customer where they are and personalize their experience :

  • Greet every customer with a helpful and friendly approach, read customer cues, match their needs with an elevated level of service, and meet the customer where they are at.
  • Share the benefits of the DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) Loyalty program and enroll new members.
  • Answer questions regarding product and complete customer transactions through either in-store sales or digital orders.

Be committed to the customer having a consistent positive experience :

  • Maintain a neat, clean, and safe environment for our internal and external customers, including clearing trash, cleaning the store, and organizing stock.
  • Receive inbound freight, prepare, and place merchandise on the sales floor per DSW standards, complete markdowns, and maintain the stockroom.

Bring the power of shoes to life by leveraging in-store and digital services :

  • Complete all functions of the fulfillment process including locating items, inspecting condition, packaging, and labeling for pickup/delivery.
  • Use company tools to search product availability for customer orders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Be responsible to pause and put the customer first :

  • Complete customer transactions following DSW policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy in cash handling and providing correct change.
  • Operate a calculator and register.
  • Partner with the CEL for escalated customer issues.
  • Follow all asset protection policies and procedures.

Bring fun and energy to everything you do :

  • Participate actively in team meetings and training.
  • Be open to coaching and feedback.
  • Support teamwork and inclusivity.

Required Skills :

  • Availability to meet the needs of the business.
  • Professional, friendly, and customer service-oriented.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficient with technology used in customer interactions.
  • Ability to stand or walk for up to 100% of shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl regularly.

Experience :

  • No previous retail experience required.
