Position Overview

We are recruiting adjunct faculty for part‑time, temporary instructional positions in our community college district. These roles offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist adult students in a range of programs. All assignments may include a combination of day, evening, weekend, and off‑campus classes.

Responsibilities
  • Teach lecture and/or lab classes according to departmental curriculum and course outlines.
  • Be available to students outside of class for support and instruction.
  • Maintain professional conduct and ethics.
  • Keep current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
  • Fulfill all professional responsibilities expected of a part‑time faculty member, including attending faculty meetings and advising services as required.
  • Teach all scheduled classes, prepare assignments, conduct assessments, and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain accurate grading and student records.
  • Create an engaging learning environment that encourages discussion and critical thinking.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology or in Communication Disorders from a regionally accredited institution.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Equivalent foreign degrees evaluated by a NACES or ACEI member organization.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including considerations of disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status.
Conditions of Employment
  • Submit official college transcripts.
  • Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam (renewed every 4 years).
  • Undergo Live Scan fingerprinting and obtain clearance before first day of employment.
  • Present original documents proving eligibility to work in the United States.
Salary and Pay Information

Advisory: Salary placement is contingent upon receipt of official transcripts and/or foreign degree evaluations. When advanced coursework is verified, the instructor is placed on the appropriate class and step on the Adjunct College Salary Schedules effective the first month following receipt of documents. Initial placement will be at the first class/step until official transcripts are submitted.
