MARC, Inc. of Manchester is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist people with developmental disabilities in group homes. The role involves supporting daily activities, finances, nutrition, and medical needs, with a focus on personal growth and community involvement.

The position is part-time with flexible hours including nights and weekends. A CT driver's license and vehicle with CT registration and insurance are required; CPR/First Aid are preferred, and training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have a valid CT Driver's License and vehicle with current CT registration and insurance.
• CPR, First Aid, PMT and Med Certification are preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provides both staff and natural supports to and implements services for each person served.
• Ensures each person served becomes involved in their community utilizing natural supports.
• Supports each person served in taking care of their home, finances, proper nutrition, and medical needs to the best of their ability.
• Works with the Group Home Manager on goals of people served.
• Ensures residential settings according to the physical standards at all times.
• Attends all MARC trainings including CPR, First Aid, PMT, and Medication Certification.
• Transports persons served in either an agency vehicle or a personal vehicle when necessary.

They will develop natural supports and assist individuals with personal growth and reaching their goals. The ideal candidate will have compassion, previous experience assisting adults with special needs, strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good judgment.Requirements: Must have a valid CT Driver's License and vehicle with current CT registration and insurance, as driving is a requirement of the position. Must have a High School Diploma. CPR, First Aid, PMT and Med Certification are preferred.Part-Time position available; Flexible hours to include nights and weekends.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONDIBILITIES:Provides both staff and natural supports to and implements services for each person served.Ensures each person served becomes involved in their community utilizing natural supports.Support each person served in taking care of their home, finances, proper nutrition, and medical needs to the best of their ability.Work with the Group Home Manager on goals of people served.Ensures residential settings according to the physical standards at all times.Ensures that all persons served are accorded all their rights and responsibilities and are free from abuse or neglect.Ensures confidentiality and demonstrates positive attitude and behavior at all times so as to provide an appropriate role model for others.Attends all applicable MARC training sessions including CPR, First Aid, PMT, and Medication Certification. All trainings must be completed within six months of hire date or termination will follow.
