REPORTS TO:

House Manager

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Acquire and maintain certification in First Aid, CPR, and CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention). Subject to annual TB test. Valid Driver's license from the state of residence and ability to operate a motor vehicle for 15 passengers or less.
Job Summary:

Provide direct care and training to consumers in community residence according to local, state, and federal guidelines. Implement training goals and collect data. Counsel consumers as necessary.

Physical Abilities Include:

Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting (with assistance), fingering, writing, reading, driving including nights, counting, working double shifts as necessary, running, and smell.

Physical Requirements Include:

Very heavy lifting with assistance. Visual acuity must be sufficient to read small print and record data. The worker is subject to indoor and outdoor environments, temperature extremes, noise, hazards including physical assault, property destruction, infections, and may need to wear protective clothing to prevent exposure.

Job Duties:
  1. Maintain accountability for all consumers within the assigned setting and monitor their actions.
  2. Ensure consumers' needs are met through goal implementation, behavior management, personal hygiene, social adjustment, leisure, and activities.
  3. Report and address inappropriate or maladaptive behaviors; implement behavior management plans.
  4. Complete all DSP paperwork, including logs, inventories, progress notes, behavior reports, requisitions, and create new documentation as needed.
  5. Maintain cleanliness of the unit, supervise chores, house cleaning, cooking, and laundry.
  6. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide relevant information for evaluation.
  7. Administer medications following CHESCO Services guidelines.
  8. Make copies of direct care paperwork (Third Shift).
  9. Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
  10. Transport consumers as needed.
  11. Conduct monthly fire drills and disaster drills as required.
  12. Provide coverage for other shifts and community programs as needed.
  13. Purchase groceries and supplies weekly or as needed.
  14. Handle clothing purchases (Second Shift; delegated by House Manager).
  15. Prepare food and manage supply inventory (Third Shift).
  16. Maintain Service Provision Log (Third Shift).
  17. Prepare chore list (Third Shift).
  18. Perform filing and other duties as assigned.
