Maxim Healthcare in Charlotte, NC is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will drive clients in your own vehicle, accompany them to community activities, and mentor individuals to build independence and life skills.

Shifts start 8am-2/3pm or 3pm+, average 4–5 hours. Hourly pay is $16–$17 with weekly paychecks. Benefits include health, dental, vision, HSA and life insurance, PTO, and a 401(k) plan.

Formación

• Excellent communication skills required.
• Proficiency in English.
• Active driver’s license required.
• NCI Training provided or required.
• CPR/FA certification required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsabilidades

• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal prep, and household chores.
• Transport clients to and from community activities as needed.
• Support individuals in achieving developmental goals and fostering independence.
• Encourage community participation and accompany individuals on outings and social activities.
• Document observations and progress on goals and ensure a safe environment for clients.

This role requires driving and accompanying patients throughout the community to help them achieve their short-term and long-term personal goals. DSPs serve as mentors, advocates, and life coaches by fostering independence, teaching life skills, promoting community engagement, and supporting meaningful participation in social, recreational, educational, and vocational activities.

This role requires that you are comfortable transporting patients in your own vehicle, encouraging personal growth, and creating opportunities that enhance quality of life and overall independence.
