Job summary

Two Six Technologies in Herndon, Virginia seeks a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer to join a multidisciplinary RF team. You will design, test, and optimize DSP algorithms for wireless systems, leveraging SDR hardware and open-source tools in a hands-on lab.

You will work on real-world reverse engineering, receiver/transmitter architectures, and waveform processing, contributing to mission-focused RF applications with national security impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• Software-defined radio expertise, including receiver architectures, channelization, modulation/demodulation techniques, error-correcting codes, and spectral analysis.
• Experience designing and implementing receiver, transmitter, and modem signal chains in cellular, radio, or RF communication systems.
• Experience with PHY and MAC layer concepts, waveform processing, synchronization, channel estimation, framing, and link-level behavior.
• Familiarity with open-source signal processing libraries and frameworks.
• Experience with SDRs such as Ettus USRP Series, BladeRF, and PlutoSDR.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with C, C++, Embedded C, Python.
• Experience with collaborative Git workflows, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize digital signal processing algorithms for real-world wireless systems.
• Perform signal detection, identification, classification, and decoding of captured waveforms.
• Develop and evaluate receiver, transmitter, and modem architectures for RF systems.
• Perform RF signal reception and transmission using common modulation schemes (FSK, PSK, QAM, OFDM).
• Develop prototypes in laboratory environments using SDR hardware and RF test equipment.
• Contribute subject matter expertise in DSP, SDR, and wireless communications systems.
• Contribute to a centralized development repository of software design patterns, tools, and infrastructure.
