Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency is seeking a Direct Support Professional to empower individuals with developmental disabilities in-home and in the community. You will deliver person-centered care, promote independence, and ensure safety and dignity in every interaction.

You'll support daily living activities, mobility, transportation, and accompany clients to medical and therapy appointments, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and building trusting relationships in a compassionate team environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Prior experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP).
• Client prefers male staff.
• Own vehicle with all-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive.
• Ability to drive up a mountain in winter.

Duties

• Deliver hands-on support with daily living activities, personal care, and mobility

• Foster independence and community involvement for individuals with disabilities

• Implement and adapt individualized care plans and behavioral strategies (BSP)

• Ensure a safe, respectful environment that protects individual rights and well-being

• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorderand other diverse needs

• Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards

• Provide transportation and accompany individuals to medical, therapy, and community appointments

Skills

• Strong knowledge of behavioral support plans (BSPs) and home care practices

• Ability to assist individuals with mobility and personal care needs

• Proficient in goal tracking and implementing individualized support strategies

• Solid understanding of individual rights, person-centered advocacy, and HIPAA compliance

• Compassionate, reliable, and adaptable with excellent interpersonal skills
