Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency is seeking a Direct Support Professional to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. You will provide person-centered care, promote independence, and protect safety and dignity in all interactions.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living, mobility, and transportation to appointments, while maintaining HIPAA standards and respecting client rights.

Qualifications

• Experience with BSPs and home care practices.

Job Summary

You’ll provide person-centered care, encourage independence, and ensure safety and dignity in every interaction.

Duties

• Deliver hands-on support with daily living activities, personal care, and mobility

• Foster independence and community involvement for individuals with disabilities

• Implement and adapt individualized care plans and behavioral strategies (BSP)

• Ensure a safe, respectful environment that protects individual rights and well-being

• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorderand other diverse needs

• Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards

• Provide transportation and accompany individuals to medical, therapy, and community appointments

Skills

• Strong knowledge of behavioral support plans (BSPs) and home care practices

• Ability to assist individuals with mobility and personal care needs

• Proficient in goal tracking and implementing individualized support strategies

• Solid understanding of individual rights, person-centered advocacy, and HIPAA compliance

• Compassionate, reliable, and adaptable with excellent interpersonal skills

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and access to your own reliable transportation.

• Prior experience as a DSP

• Client prefers male staff

• Must have own vehicle that is either all-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive.

• Must be able to drive up a mountain in the winter.
