Job summary

Caring Professionals Homecare in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals with disabilities under 245D regulations. You will deliver respectful direct care, follow individualized plans, and support community participation.

This role requires a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to work flexible hours including weekends. You will document services, use the EVV app to log hours, and collaborate with the care

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Pass MN DHS background check and not excluded from Federal or State Healthcare Programs.
• Complete Orientation and Positive Support Rule Training, online or hybrid.
• Complete Vulnerable Adult Training through DHS.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop to care for individuals.
• English communication: able to communicate effectively in English.

Do you have the heart to serve? We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. As a DSP, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in accordance with the 245D regulations.

Responsibilities:

• - Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in a respectful and compassionate manner
• - Implement individualized support plans as established by the care team
• - Accompany and drive individuals to appointments, community activities, and run errands
• - Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided
• - Ability to use the Electronic Verification Visit App to log hours and services

Requirements

• - Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (not required for night supervision)
• - Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• - Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• - Ability to pass a MN Dept of Human Services background check
• - Have not been excluded from participating in Federal or State Healthcare Programs
• - Ability to complete Orientation and Positive Support Rule Training online or a combination of in-person and online
• - Required Vulnerable Adult Training through the Department of Human Services
• - Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop down to clean and to care for individuals served
• - An open mind and a caring demeanor
• - English Communication Requirements: Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English at a level necessary to perform the essential duties of the position, including understanding instructions, communicating with clients and team members, and completing required documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

• - Experience working with individuals with disabilities or vulnerable adults
• - Knowledge of 245D Home and Community Based Service Standards, prior experience in caregiving or working as a Direct Support Professional, or willing to learn policies prior to assuming responsibilities
• - CPR or First Aid training or willing to learn prior to assuming responsibilities
