Job summary

Bancroft in Newark, Delaware is seeking Direct Support Professionals on a per diem basis to assist children and adults with autism and developmental disabilities. The role emphasizes empathy, positive communication, and safety while delivering daily living support in a community-based setting.

Responsibilities include implementing behavioral plans, assisting with daily tasks, accompanying residents to appointments, documenting progress, and coordinating with families and care teams.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver's License in candidate's legal name and current address – one year minimum driving experience; license should be in good standing.
• Minimum of six months related work experience or a Bachelor's degree, or current enrollment in a degree program in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

• Carry out behavioral treatment plans and collect direct observational data.
• Provide assistance with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, social awareness, meal preparation, money management, and housekeeping.
• Provide personal care and supervision, actively participating in the life growth of each individual; teach daily living and functional skills to help individuals achieve personal goals and transition to less restrictive residential settings.
• Accompany individuals to healthcare appointments and community outings and provide safe transportation.
• Resolve problem behavior situations and provide intervention while adhering to Bancroft's quality standards for safety and approved crisis techniques.
• Complete paperwork and provide regular documentation; maintain effective communication with residents, parents, guardians, and other family members.

Overview

Bancroft is a leading service-provider for children and adults with autism, other intellectual or developmental disabilities or those in need of neurological rehabilitation.

We are looking for Direct Support Professionals that are passionate about providing quality care in a positive and empathetic manner. Our Direct Support Professionals must have a strong desire to work with autistic, intellectually and/or developmentally disabled individuals.

We are looking for a per diem DSP in Newark, Delaware.
