Job summary

Bancroft is hiring a Part Time Direct Support Professional (evening shift) in Dumont, NJ. You will support individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, implementing behavioral plans and assisting with daily living tasks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out behavioral treatment plans and collect observational data.
• Assist with daily living activities, personal hygiene, meals, money management, and housekeeping.
• Provide personal care and supervision; support goal achievement and transition to less restrictive housing.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments and community outings; provide safe transportation.
• Address problem behaviors using approved crisis techniques and follow Bancroft standards.
• Complete paperwork and maintain regular documentation; communicate with residents, families and guardians.

Part Time DSP – Direct Support Professional – evening shift

Bancroft is a leading service-provider for children and adults with autism, other intellectual or developmental disabilities or those in need of neurological rehabilitation.

We are looking for Direct Support Professionals that are passionate about providing quality care in a positive and empathetic manner. Our Direct Support Professionals must have a strong desire to work with autistic, intellectually and/or developmentally disabled individuals.

Job location: US-NJ-Dumont

Shift

• Sund 11a-11p
• Monday 3p-11p
• Tuesday 3p-11p

Salary is $19.04-19.44, based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out behavioral treatment plans and collect direct observational data.
• Provide assistance with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, social awareness, meal preparation, money management, and housekeeping.
• Provide personal care and supervision, actively participating in the life growth of each individual. Teach and help them achieve personal goals and transition to less restrictive residential settings.
• Accompany individuals to healthcare appointments and community outings and provide safe transportation.
• Resolve problem behavior situations and provide intervention while adhering to Bancroft's quality standards for safety and approved crisis techniques.
• Complete paperwork and provide regular documentation as required. Maintain effective communication with residents and their parents, guardians and other family members.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License in the candidate's legal name and current address, with at least one year of driving experience.
• Minimum of six months related work experience OR a Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in a degree program in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.

Desired skills:

• Aspiration to work with autistic, intellectually and developmentally challenged individuals
• Prior experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
