Job summary

Department for Persons With Disabilities (DPD) is seeking caring individuals to join our group homes as Direct Support Professional / Overnight Residential Counselor. This part-time role covers Saturday and Sunday 11:00pm–7:00am, 16 hours per week, with $20.49–$21.49 per hour plus paid time off and benefits after eligibility.

Responsibilities include assisting residents with personal care, meals, transport, medication administration, documentation, and engaging in community activities;

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Valid (non-provisional) driver’s license.
• Ability to meet CPR/First Aid and emergency evacuation procedures.

• Assist and supervise residents in personal care areas (bathing/toileting); participate in cleaning, cooking, and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and residents.
• Transport residents using agency vehicles to programs and activities.

Regular Salary: $20.49 per hour Mon-Fri and $21.49 per hour (shifts beginning 11PM Friday to 11PM on Sunday). Non-work time will be paid at the base rate.

What’s the role of a Direct Support Professional / Overnight Residential Counselor (DSP)?

• Residential Counselor is a direct care professional whose primary responsibility is to help meet the personal health, safety, and welfare of the people living in the group home.
• You will assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas such as bathing/toileting; participate & supervise in cleaning, cooking, and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and the individuals living in the homes.
• Drive residents to and from day programs, outside/within their community using agency vehicles.
• Daily documentation of services provided.
• Assist with fun community based activities.

Job Requirements

• Motivated to work as part of a team that acts in the best interest of our residents at all times.
• Experience with ID/DD population is a plus.
• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Valid (non-provisional) driver’s license.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and our emergency evacuation procedures.

Part Time Shift

16 hours per week (Saturday & Sunday 11:00pm-7:00am).

All offers of employment are contingent on the successful completion/passing of our criminal background/references/DMV check, fingerprinting, pre‑employment physical and drug test, etc.

All staff must attend a monthly staff meeting – date/time to be determined and announced in advance.

Meeting waivers are provided for conflicts due to secondary employment and/or school (appropriate documentation required).
