The Arc of Opportunity is seeking a DSP - Day Hab in Fitchburg, MA to support individuals with developmental disabilities in diverse settings. You will help implement individualized service plans, assist with daily living activities, and promote safety, dignity, and independence.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and clear CORI/SORI background checks. This full-time role offers consistent shifts and opportunities for ongoing training and professional growth.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with skill building and attainment of individual service plans/service plan goals
  • Implement Individual service plans for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities based on assessments, objectives and goals with case management.
  • Actively advocates for individuals served and demonstrates agency mission and values in all interpersonal and professional relations.
  • Attends mandatory trainings and meetings as assigned and required. Maintains all required certifications.
  • Conducts oneself professionally, maintaining respect, following regulations and agency policies and adhering to confidentiality requirements in all assigned duties
  • Assist individual in resolving health and hygiene issues.
  • Perform safe lifts and transfers of individuals who use wheelchairs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $20.81 per hour

Shift Schedule: -Monday--9AM-3PM-Friday-30 Hours

Position Summary: -

Position Summary: The Day Hab Direct Support Professional supports individuals intellectual and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings to achieve the goals identified in the individual’s service plan while exemplifying service standards of excellence in all direct care and operational duties.

Responsibilities: -

Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Physical demands include frequent standing, pushing, pulling, walking, stooping, lifting and twisting.

Ability to perform physical restraint if necessary.

Ability to transfer, change, shower assist with toileting and all personal care needs of the individuals supported.

Functional and situational reasoning to follow policy, complete administrative tasks, problem solve, exercise sound judgment, prioritize multiple tasks, and crisis manage Cross functional communication skills, written and oral, which convey clear and concise information in a professional and respectful manner to individuals supported, family members/guardians, peers, government agencies, community partners and all employees throughout the organization.
