Job summary

The Arc of Opportunity in North Central Massachusetts is seeking a Direct Support Professional to enhance the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include implementing service plans and assisting with daily living activities.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass background checks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and sustain periods of sitting or standing.

Salary & Benefits

$3500 Sign‑On Bonus for New Hires! (paid in 2 installments at 3 months and 6 months with successful completion of Orientation)

$1500 Referral Bonus for Current Staff!

$20.40 an hour or $21.42 with MAP Certification

Schedule

Sunday, Monday, Friday, Saturday 7 am‑3 pm (32 hr/week)

Essential Job Functions

• Actively advocate for individuals served demonstrating the Agency’s values and mission in all interactions
• Leverage your knowledge and interests in the community to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life
• Implement individual service plans
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including household tasks and chores
• Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the Agency’s van
• Present in a respectful and professional manner in all interactions
• Attend all trainings and implement knowledge throughout your work
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Active and valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass background checks
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs and sustain periods of sitting or standing
• Ability to assist in a restraint if needed
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health preferred
