Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer - RF Systems & Software Defined Radio (SDR)
We are seeking a highly skilled DSP Engineer with expertise in RF signal processing, Software Defined Radio (SDR), and wireless protocol development to join our team supporting critical intelligence and defense operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong autonomous working capabilities and possess an active TS/SCI security clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement engineering solutions to collect, process, and exploit RF signals for intelligence and defense applications
- Perform advanced digital signal processing including signal detection, estimation, and demodulation of wireless communications
- Develop and execute modeling techniques, proofs-of-concept, and prototype solutions for real-time Software Defined Radio systems
- Write high-performance signal processing code in C/C++ and Python for Linux-based platforms
- Analyze and process wireless air interface protocols and digital communication systems
- Collaborate with distributed teams to deliver operational systems from concept through deployment
- Utilize version control systems (Git) to manage code repositories and maintain development workflows
- Document technical designs, algorithms, and system architectures with clear written communication
- Work autonomously on complex RF signal processing challenges with minimal supervision
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI security clearance (required prior to start date)
- Proven experience developing engineering solutions to collect, process, and exploit RF signals
- Strong knowledge of digital communications theory, including detection, estimation, and demodulation techniques
- Demonstrated capability developing modeling techniques, producing proofs-of-concept, evolving prototypes, and delivering operational systems
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python programming for signal processing applications
- Systems development experience within the Intelligence Community or Defense sectors
- Familiarity with code management tools and version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration
- Bachelor's degree or higher (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical field
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on knowledge of Software Defined Radio (SDR) platforms and architectures
- Experience with XMIDAS signal processing framework
- Understanding of geolocation theory and RF geolocation techniques
- Experience working in complex RF environments with multiple signals and interference
- In-depth knowledge of wireless air interface protocols (LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, etc.)
- Expertise in multi-threaded signal processing algorithms in Python/C++ on Linux hosts
- Proven track record working effectively in distributed team environments
Compensation & Benefits
Annual Salary Range: $140,000 - $175,000 USD, commensurate with experience and qualifications
