Direct support Professional / Behavior Technician
Hills & Dales is a non-profit organization dedicated to building meaningful lives for individuals with disabilities. The Behavioral Direct Support Professional is responsible for delivering high-quality behavioral, personal, and daily living support to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. The role blends direct support duties with behavior technician functions by implementing ABA-based strategies and supporting individuals in home, center, and community settings.
Average Pay: $23.04 - $25.08 per hour (blended between regular and premium pay rates).
Base wage range: $19.75-$21.50/hour
Full-Time Positions Available:
**PLEASE NOTE: Hours scheduled during the Mon-Fri timeframe will be working in our ABA clinic from 8AM-1:30PM.**
Responsibilities:
Assist clients in developing independence through teaching daily living skills (e.g., hygiene, self-care, meal preparation, cleaning).
Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living or treatment environment.
Encourage client choice-making and self-advocacy in all aspects of daily life.
Implement individualized behavior support plans developed by a BCBA.
Use approved behavior management techniques, including de-escalation and reinforcement strategies.
Monitor and record behaviors and progress toward goals in alignment with ABA practices.
Deliver evidence-based interventions following the BCBA-directed care plan.
Accurately document client progress, treatment outcomes, and session notes on the day of service.
Participate in ABA data collection and analysis to support clinical decisions.
Administer medications if certified and ensure proper health routines are followed.
Provide first aid and assist with physical care needs, including transfers with adaptive equipment.
Monitor for and report any signs of abuse, injury, or health concerns.
Complete all required documentation for both direct care and ABA services in a timely manner.
Communicate regularly with clinical and residential teams about client progress and concerns.
Use electronic systems to maintain records and streamline information sharing.
Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality in all interactions.
Participate in team meetings, trainings, and continuing education sessions.

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must hold or obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 3 months of employment.
Minimum 3 months experience working with children or adults with Autism or developmental disabilities.
Ability to lift/move up to 35 lbs.
Valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance required.
Must maintain reliable transportation and ability to drive agency vehicles
Pay is based on experience, education, and any previous loyalty to H&D.
Offer contingent upon the succressful completetion of a criminal background check, dependernt adult and child abuse background check, and drug screen.
