Job summary

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is seeking an Associate Director for the Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) in New Jersey. You will work with the Program Director and direct care staff to deliver quality services in group homes, ensure documentation, and manage scheduling and finances.

The role requires prior supervisory experience, a valid NJ driver’s license, and flexibility to meet program needs, with full-time hours and a pay rate of $25.44 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Program Assistant or Associate Director preferred.
• B.A. degree preferred in Special Education or related field or 1 year of supervisory experience with people with developmental disabilities.
• Must have a driver’s license valid in New Jersey and a driving record in good standing.
• Flexibility required to meet the needs of the program; schedule subject to change; On-call requirements.
• Must attend staff meetings.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with the Program Director to provide quality services to residents.
• Interview, hire and supervise staff to maintain high quality of life for residents.
• Handle scheduling, financial management and home management tasks.
• Monitor health issues and clothing needs; ensure regulatory standards are met.
• Maintain extensive written documentation and use computer systems as required.
• Collaborate with agency administration and DHS during inspections or investigations.

Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) is one of the largest Catholic Charities Agencies providing care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the United States. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Group Homes.

Pay: $25.44/Hr

Full Time-Shift: 40 hours per week, (Monday 1pm-9pm), (Tuesday 8am-4pm), (Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday 7am-3pm).

What’s the role of an Associate Director?

• The primary responsibility of the Associate Director is to work cooperatively with the Program Director to provide quality services to the people living in the home, and to uphold the agency philosophy in carrying out the day-to-day tasks.
• The job includes working direct care and demonstrating excellence in all areas of the residential counselor position, as well as interviewing, hiring and supervising staff in order to maintain the highest possible quality of life for the residents.
• It includes many administrative tasks, such as scheduling staff, financial management, home management, monitoring health issues and clothing needs, ensuring that the home is meeting agency and governmental standards of operation.
• The job requires a significant amount of written documentation and use of the computer.
• The employee will cooperate with the agency's administration and/or Division and DHS staff in any inspection or investigation.

Requirements
