Job description

Warehouse Operator 2

Come join our warehouse team in the commissary department at Rainier School, a residential rehabilitation facility located in Buckley, WA. As a Warehouse Operator 2, you’ll help keep food, cleaning supplies, and other important items stocked and ready for use across campus. You’ll help place orders for the commissary and dietary warehouses, make sure items are pulled and delivered correctly, and keep records accurate and up to date.

This is a hands-on job in a supportive setting where your work really matters. You’ll check in deliveries, track supplies, stock shelves, and fill orders that support the care and comfort of residents and staff.

Rainier School is a 24-hour residential center in Buckley for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It sits on a quiet campus surrounded by nature, with a beautiful view of Mount Rainier. The people who live here receive care, learn life skills, and take part in job training and community activities. As part of the warehouse team, you’ll play a key role in making all of that possible.

Please note: The anticipated s
chedule is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for anadditional5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

Some of what you'll do:

  • Check deliveries to make sure the items match the packing slips.
  • Write down what was received and keep order records.
  • Enter details into the computer for items coming in and going out.
  • Stock shelves and keep track of items that are running low.
  • Fill supply orders and get them ready for delivery.
  • Talk with vendors, drivers and managers to keep things running smoothly.
  • Count inventory regularly and make sure it matches what’s in the computer.
  • Look into and fix any mistakes or missing items.
  • Use equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks.
  • Give helpful service to staff, vendors and visitors.
  • Keep the warehouse clean and organized.

  • Equipment use – You know how to—or are willing to learn to—use a forklift, pallet jackand other equipment as needed.
  • Detail focus – You spot problems quickly and fix them.
  • Flexibility – You’re ready to help in different areas when needed.

Who should apply?

Professionals with a high school diploma or GED and two years of clerical or technical experience in retail clerking, warehousing, stock keeping, shipping, or receiving and operation of material handling equipment.
