Join our team as a Food Service Supervisor 2 at our newest behavioral health treatment campus, Maple Lane in Grand Mound, near Centralia, WA. We’re hiring for multiple vacancies and seeking skilled leaders dedicated to food service management and a commitment to excellence.

Description

Maple Lane Behavioral Health Treatment Center offers innovative care for residents who are civilly committed, in need of competency restoration, or adjudicated not guilty by reason of mental diagnosis. The facility promotes community-based care, helping residents stay close to home and support systems, fostering stronger community connections.

As a Food Service Supervisor 2, you will oversee daily food preparation and service, including specialized dietary meals, managing large-scale cooking operations. Your leadership will involve supervising staff, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations. Your work will directly impact residents’ health and well-being by providing nutritious, tailored meals. Maple Lane is part of DSHS's Behavioral Health & Habilitation Administration, which aims to modernize behavioral health services in Washington State.

Opportunities performed on-site at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay, with evening shifts including a shift differential.

Some of Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor staff and residents in food production, managing incidents per protocols.
  • Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of management, ensuring timely meal preparation and distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and equipment standards, manage supplies and inventory.
  • Adjust menus to address shortages, staffing, and dietary needs.
  • Conduct meetings, evaluate staff and residents, and manage leave schedules.
  • Handle inquiries about meals and special diets, ensuring proper communication.
  • Complete administrative tasks and maintain records.

Qualifications

Who should apply: Customer service professionals with a valid county-issued Food Handler’s Permit within 15 days of employment, and one of the following:

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years in food service, including 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Associate degree in food service management or related field, plus 1 year supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in restaurant or hotel management or related field.
