Job Overview

Responsibilities

• Repairs with little guidance on all product types.
• Completes all repair types of entry level with additional skills requirements.
• Performs minor repair on the surface of case pieces and tables.
• Performs solid color paper/side refinishes.
• Rebuilds small corner damages that require rebuild.
• Has general understanding of spray booth set‑up and use.
• Performs advanced replacement part repairs.
• Communicates maintenance needs of tools, parts, and hardware, and keeps the repair area/shop clean.
• Inspects damaged products and determines if they can be repaired to like‑new conditions.
• Works with warehouse personnel on techniques for minor touch‑up during the inspection process.
• Documents and follows through on recurring product damages.
• Assists other technicians.
• Accurately reports situations where repairs cannot be completed.
• Assesses damages to identify the most efficient repair approach.
• Identifies damage, loss, or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse.
• Demonstrates the company’s core and growth values in all job functions.
• Complies with safety regulations and maintains a clean, orderly work area.
• Maintains proper safety usage of all products used within the department.
• Maintains a clean and organized service vehicle, including required repair materials and supplies.
• Adheres to the driving policy for company vehicles, including meeting annual MVR review requirements.
• Follows the planned route to ensure on‑time arrival for customer repairs.
• Safely operates hand and power tools, especially drills, impact drivers, and multi‑tools.
• Completes bench testing evaluations for regular validation of skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 1‑year practical work experience in furniture repair, including upholstery, leather repairs, and wood refinishing, or similar experience with materials and color matching.
• Read, understand, and write in English; additional languages beneficial.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Ability to learn in‑house computer programs.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record per company guidelines.

Physical Requirements

• Good vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception) for reading reports and viewing computer screens.
• Good hearing and ability to understand speech.
• Clear speaking voice for communication.
• Capacity to remain seated for extended periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks with both hands, including keyboarding, handwriting, office/POS equipment, and handheld equipment operation.
• Ability to stand, move on foot, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach at or above shoulder level.
• Capability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs and more with assistance.
• Primarily works in private homes or retail establishments; occasional work at warehouse locations.
• Potential exposure to oil, latex, spray paint, household chemicals, biological odors, dust, and moderate office noise.
