Persistent is seeking a highly skilled Senior ETL Developer with a strong IBM DataStage background to join our data engineering team in San Jose. You will lead ETL development and automation, work with Unix shell scripts, and optimize SQL queries to enhance data integration and performance.

You will collaborate with onshore and offshore teams in an Agile environment, using JIRA and CI/CD, while adhering to ITSM processes and SLAs to ensure reliable data operations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of proven experience in ETL development and administration using IBM DataStage.
• Strong knowledge of Unix shell scripting and Cron jobs.
• Proficient in SQL for database querying and automation.
• Experience in leading automation initiatives and developing frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery models and tools such as JIRA.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with experience in an onshore-offshore model.

About Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior ETL Developer with a strong background in IBM DataStage to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) development and administration, along with a solid understanding of Unix shell scripts, Cron jobs, and relational databases. This role requires a proactive individual who can lead and drive utilities and frameworks to automate functionality and environment checks.

What You'll Do

• Utilize Unix shell scripts and Cron jobs for automation and scheduling of data workflows.

Mandatory Skills

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Control-M, MFT, and IBM Gentran.
• Experience with Snowflake platform.
• Media domain knowledge is a plus.
