Deacon Construction is seeking a skilled Drywaller to join our team. You will be responsible for taping joints between plasterboard and preparing wall surfaces for painting, wallpapering, or texturing.

This is a hands-on position requiring attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship. Candidates should have proven drywall experience, familiarity with hand tools and mechanical applicators, and a strong knowledge of joint compounds and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a drywaller or similar role in construction.
• Proficient with drywall tools and mechanical applicators.
• Solid knowledge of joint compounds and surface prep.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain an organized work area.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Cut out and pre-fill damaged areas on finished walls.
• Mix joint compounds and tape joints using hand tools or mechanical applicators.
• Spot screws and apply compound for a smooth finish.
• Sand surfaces to prep for painting or texturing.
• Apply finishes and touch up nicks and pinholes.
• Maintain and stock materials on-site.
• Adhere to industry standards and safety regulations.
