Job summary

Christman Facility Solutions is looking for a Drywall Technician/Carpenter in our Mesquite, Texas region.

Responsibilities
  • Build barriers for various types of jobsite environments, including scaffolding, drywall partitions, wood/metal forms, cabinetry work, etc.
  • Prepare work area by removing objects interfering with work, ensure all materials are at the jobsite, and perform preliminary work.
  • Work with varied materials including wood, plastic, fiberglass or drywall.
  • Utilize tools such as chisels, planes, saws, drills, sanders, levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares and surveying equipment to erect and repair structures.
  • Join materials with nails, screws, staples or adhesives, and safely operate a variety of saws and other carpentry tools.
  • Check work along the way to ensure it meets all code and specification requirements and complies with epidemiology requirements and safety (ICRA and PCRA) documents.
  • Install a variety of Division 10 accessories in commercial environments, including multi‑stall toilet partitions (headrail‑braced, floor‑mounted, etc.), fire extinguisher cabinets, and access panels.
  • Implement comprehensive wall protection systems, including the precise installation of corner guards, crash rails, and wall panels, ensuring adherence to design specifications and building codes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings to lay out and execute installation plans.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other trades to coordinate workflow and ensure all Division 10 installations are completed on time and within budget.
  • Perform finish carpentry duties such as installing architectural trim, shelving, and other fixtures, upholding high standards of craftsmanship.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance, manage time schedules and deadlines, and keep tools and workspace organized.
  • Travel up to 60 miles a day depending on project location.
Qualifications
  • Minimum two years of carpentry experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Understanding of safety rules and tool/equipment instructions.
  • Ability to take measurements and make calculations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Pass any required skills tests at the jobsite.
  • Problem‑solving ability when errors occur.
  • Must be conscious of time schedules and deadlines.
  • Must be able to tolerate heights without fear.
  • Must have own hand tools; power tools will be provided by Christman.
