Qualifications

POSITION IDENTIFICATION

Title: Drywall Installer and Finisher - 1st Shift

Business Unit: iManufacturing (iManufacture)

Reports to: Production Manager

Schedule:
Monday - Friday - 06:00 am - 2:30 pm + overtime and occasional Saturday work.

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Impact Housing is a Southern California-based company that is designing and building multifamily and mixed-use attainable housing. The company is employing innovative off-site modular design to address today’s housing crisis with an integrated design, development, manufacturing, and construction process.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Drywall Installer and Finisher will secure drywall panels to the interior of residential, commercial, and other types of construction and will prepare the drywall for painting or finishing.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Measures and cuts drywall panels to fit in and around specific spaces such as doors, windows, electrical outlets, and lighting fixtures.
  2. Installs drywall panels to wood or metal studs.
  3. Uses drywall compound to fill in and cover joints, screws, nails, and other imperfections.
  4. Sands joint compound once dry and applies drywall tape.
  5. Creates textured surfaces when requested.
  6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
  7. Finishes gypsum wallboard surfaces by taping, spotting, pointing, filling, finishing, and sanding joints, angles, internal and external corners, and all field surfaces.

Required Skills / Abilities

  1. Ability to read simple building plans.
  2. Ability to estimate the quantity of materials required for a project.
  3. Ability to measure and cut drywall to fit in specific spaces.
  4. Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  5. Ability to work independently and with a work crew.
  6. Ability to use hand tools and power tools required for installing drywall.

Education:

  1. High School Diploma preferred but not required.

Work Authorization

  1. All prospective Impact Housing employees need to demonstrate eligibility to work in the U.S.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  2. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  3. Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces.
  4. Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 80 lbs.; includes body weight, equipment, tools, and boxes.

Compensation:

  1. Competitive hourly range of $19-21 hourly depending on experience.
