Higgins Group, Inc. is seeking a Commercial Drywall Finisher to join our Commercial Walls and Ceilings Division on-site in Manhattan, KS.

You will finish drywall surfaces to a smooth, paint-ready state while upholding safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include preparing and finishing surfaces, correcting imperfections, coordinating with project teams, mentoring newer finishers, and maintaining tools.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work on military installations
• Must provide and maintain personal drywall finishing tools
• Ability to perform physical job duties
• Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated surfaces
• Must pass UA/PCP drug and alcohol screening
• Employment contingent on E-Verify authorization

Compensation: Hourly, with final compensation based on skills, experience, and qualifications. (Paid weekly)

Role Summary

The Drywall Finisher at Higgins Group, Inc. works within our Commercial Walls and Ceilings Division, supporting business, institutional, and large-scale construction projects. This role is responsible for producing smooth, seamless wall and ceiling finishes that are ready for final paint or coatings, while maintaining our standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities

• Prepare and finish drywall surfaces to meet client and industry quality standards
• Identify and correct imperfections including cracks, seams, and surface irregularities
• Install corner bead and reinforcement materials
• Prepare surfaces for final paint or coatings

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years drywall finishing experience
• Experience with finishing tools other than pan and knife
• Ability to work safely on drywall stilts
• Experience in fast-paced environments
• Strong attention to detail
