Job summary

Mohawk Industries, a Fortune 500 global flooring leader, is hiring a Dyeing Dryer Operator for the Dalton, GA area. You will operate the dryer, monitor equipment, and maintain quality as part of a large, integrated manufacturing network.

The role requires 3–6 months related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work 8–12 hour shifts days or nights, weekdays or weekends. Mohawk emphasizes growth and opportunities within a global flooring company.

Responsibilities

• Watch for defects in carpet that might be caused by steamer or washers and contact supervisor about them.
• Align guide so that carpet and leader enter dryer straight.
• Ensure all circulating fans are running.
• Run inside rollers and tenter width correctly to keep carpet straight.
• Stay in close contact with inspector about moisture content, width and bow.
• Stay in contact with Console operator about the speed that you are running.
• Never leave dryer running unattended.
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Follow all established standard operating procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.

What we need:

Mohawk is looking for a Dyeing Dryer Operator in the Dalton, Ga area. In this role, you will operate the dryer.

What you'll do:

What you have:

• Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school graduate or GED equivalency preferred.
• Prior experience in operating tufting machine equipment required, and/or equivalent combination of on the job training and work experience.
• Reads and writes in standard English and proficient performing basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction.
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.
• May be required to use PC and other department specific database systems.

• Frequently required to reach, handle, stand, walk, sit and stoop.
• Occasionally required to kneel.
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds throughout an 8 - 12 hour shift.
• Must be able to work 8 - 12 hour shifts either day or night, weekdays or weekends as scheduled.
