Job summary

Mohawk Industries, Inc. in Dalton, GA is seeking a Dryer Operator for the 3rd shift to operate the dryer and monitor moisture content to ensure product quality.

The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and cooperation with supervision to maintain efficient production flow. The position calls for basic English literacy, a HS diploma or GED, and 3–6 months related experience or training.

Qualifications

• Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school graduate or GED equivalency preferred.
• Reads and writes in standard English and proficient performing basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction.
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.
• May be required to use PC and other department specific database systems.

Responsibilities

• Watch for defects in carpet that might be caused by steamer or washers and contact supervisor about them.
• Align guide so that carpet and leader enter dryer straight.
• Ensure all circulating fans are running.
• Run inside rollers and tenter width correctly to keep carpet straight.
• Stay in close contact with inspector about moisture content, width and bow
• Stay in contact with Console operator about the speed that you are running.
• Never leave dryer running unattended
• Attend any job‑related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating procedures
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

What we need:

• Mohawk is looking for a Dyeing Dryer Operator in the Dalton, Ga area. In this role, you will operate the dryer.

What you'll do:

What you have:

• Frequently required to reach, handle, stand, walk, sit and stoop.
• Occasionally required to kneel. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds throughout an 8 - 12 hour shift.
• Must be able to work 8 - 12 hour shifts either day or night, weekdays or weekends as scheduled.
