Job summary

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is hiring a Plant Operator in Hopewell, VA to run loading and packaging of dry ice. You will ensure quality, operate equipment safely, and maintain production documentation in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, commissions, proportions, and percent.

Responsibilities

• Loading & Packaging: Perform the daily loading, weighing, and packaging of dry ice products into various containers (blocks, pellets, slices) based on customer orders.
• Quality Assurance: Inspect all finished products to ensure they meet the company's strict quality standards regarding weight, density, and packaging integrity.
• Equipment Operation: Operate production machinery and material handling equipment (such as forklifts or pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
• Documentation: Accurate logging of production numbers, shipping manifests, and inventory usage.
