Job summary

La Bodega is seeking an order selector to fulfill customer orders in a fast-paced distribution environment. You will locate, pick, wrap, scan, and stage orders in dedicated lanes, ensuring accuracy and productivity.

This role requires standing for long shifts, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in refrigerated conditions. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; previous RF scanner and pallet jack experience is preferred.

Position Summary

The position is responsible for fulfilling customer orders, which includes locating, picking, stacking, scanning, wrapping, and staging the individual orders in their respective staging lanes.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Ensure that the correct quantity and product types are being selected to meet the company's productivity standards.
• Work quickly and efficiently, in addition to maintaining the accuracy of the orders.
• Work within three main product departments which include freezer, produce, and the dry area.
• Safely operate the electric pallet jack.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and quality standards.
• Maintain safe work practices.
• Maintain equipment and report malfunctions.
• Other duties as required and assigned.

Skills/Qualifications

• Ability to select/pick orders for the company's clients.
• Required to work in a food handling environment with varying climates, including dry, humid, cold, and hot.
• Ability to operate the electric pallet jack.
• Ability to meet/exceed productivity standards.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Diligent and punctual.
• Must be able to stand for the majority of the shift.
• Must be able to work in a refrigerated food handling environment

Education / Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous experience as an order selector or other warehouse position preferred.
• Previous experience operating the electric pallet jack and RF scanner gun preferred.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus.

Physical Demands And Work Conditions

• The work environment is that typical of a distribution center.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use the hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
• Lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Able to squat, bend, stoop, push, pull, kneel, and reach. Must be flexible with work schedule that supports a 24-hour production facility.
• Successful performance requires vision abilities that include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• The noise level ranges from quiet to loud.
• Exposure to extreme temperature changes, moisture, noise, odors, and moving equipment.
