Job summary

Yamaha Corporation in Buena Park offers a paid Drums & Percussion Department internship with a hybrid schedule in our Buena Park office. The role runs January to April 2027, with a potential extension through July 2027.

You will support dealers, consumers, show logistics, and develop marketing materials while assisting with a final intern project addressing a real business concern. Strong communication and percussion experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior from an accredited university or have recently graduated
• Degree field: Journalism, Marketing, Music Business, Music Performance, Music Education, Public Relations or related
• Minimum GPA 2.7
• Experience in retail music store is a plus
• Some percussion instrument experience required
• Strong written communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

• Communicate with dealers, consumers, District Sales Managers, and staff to answer questions as needed
• Attend industry trade shows, clinics and artist performances
• Coordinate related product and support materials for shows
• Analyze competitive markets and formulate product and price comparisons of new and existing products
• Assist with production of website and marketing materials such as print ads, social media, flyers, labels, brochures, catalogs, press releases, etc.
• Responsible for final intern project focusing on researching and solving a real world business concern
• Other duties as assigned
• Internship is predicted to go from January to April 2027 with the possibility of extending through July 2027
