Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify mechanical problems and perform repairs.
• Remove unsafe equipment and notify supervisor.
• Repair and fabricate items using welding or plumbing techniques.
• Test drums to verify correct repairs.
• Schedule and perform routine and preventive maintenance for drums.
• Review plans, procedures, drawings and quality manuals to understand scope.

Responsibilities

Drum Mechanic position responsibilities include, but are not limited to

• Inspects drums to ensure drums are working properly and safely
• Identifies mechanical problems and performs mechanical repairs
• Removes unsafe equipment from facility operating area and notifies supervisor
• Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using welding and or plumbing techniques and equipment including pumps, gearboxes, etc.
• Tests drums to ensure repairs are completed correctly
• Schedules and performs routine and preventive maintenance for drums
• Reviews plans, process procedures, drawings, and quality manuals to understand the scope, requirements, and function of products
• Maintains repair log
• Operates radio equipment to communicate accurately and promptly
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment
• Performs other related duties as assigned

This is a safety sensitive position. This is an on-site position.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Drum Mechanic position should possess the following

• Completion of forklift truck training or willingness to complete necessary courses
• Ability to use hand and power tools, ladders, and lift trucks (i.e. – snorkel lift/bucket lift)
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to complete mechanical aptitude assessment
• Analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
• Must be able to stand and walk on concrete surfaces and climb stairs for prolonged periods
• Must be able to lift 75 to 100 pounds at a time
• Must comply with all personal protective equipment requirements and with all safe work practices and procedures
• Must be willing and able to work outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to work various shift and “on-call” as needed

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
