Job summary

The State of Nebraska is seeking a Drug Technician to monitor, coordinate, and document drug screenings for probation-related activities at our Omaha location. The role involves interaction with clients, scheduling, and ensuring proper testing procedures are followed.

Responsibilities include collecting samples, recording results, and maintaining inventory while complying with policies and procedures. Training on documentation may be provided, with non-traditional hours often required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 1 year of related experience required.
• All educational credits must come from an accredited institution.
• Preferred: prior substance abuse or chemical testing training and working with offender population.

Responsibilities

• Assist Probation officers with client contact and scheduling activities.
• Greets clients, collects testing forms, and accompanies to drug testing area.
• Conduct drug screening using approved methodologies and record results.
• Maintain chain of custody and secure storage for samples.
• Maintain inventory of testing supplies and equipment.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
