Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the Drug GM department. Support the day-to-day operations of the Drug GM department. Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service. Responsibilities
  1. Promote trust and respect among associates.
  2. Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates.
  3. Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals.
  4. Establish performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets.
  5. Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
  6. Train and develop associates on performance of their job and participate in the performance appraisal process.
  7. Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
  8. Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  9. Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
  10. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
  11. Inform customers of Drug GM specials.
  12. Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
  13. Understand the store’s layout and be able to locate products.
  14. Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
  15. Inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming, and special in-store promotions, especially those that affect Drug GM.
  16. Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
  17. Implement the period promotional plan for the department.
  18. Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  19. Monitor and control expenses for the department.
  20. Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note any discrepancies in inventory.
  21. Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
  22. Plan, organize, and supervise the inventory process.
  23. Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
  24. Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
  25. Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store management of any items in need of repair.
  26. Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  27. Report all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft, or fraud.
  28. Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  29. Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
  30. Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  31. Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  32. Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
  33. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
