Job description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department, and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others.

Responsibilities
  1. Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  2. Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
  3. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
  4. Inform customers of Drug GM specials.
  5. Recommend Drug GM items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
  6. Review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.
  7. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  8. Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  9. Display a positive attitude.
  10. Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  11. Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions and notifying store management.
  12. Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate department or store management of any items in need of repair.
  13. Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  14. Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
  15. Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  16. Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
  17. Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  18. Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  19. Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
  20. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
