Job summary

The Broad Institute is seeking a bench-based synthetic organic chemist to support early drug discovery by synthesizing small molecules and supporting compound management. The role requires experience in modern synthesis, purification, and characterization, with medicinal chemistry background a plus. Training will be provided as needed.

You will work closely with CDoT teams to advance projects, document work meticulously, and communicate results across internal teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Synthesis of small molecules using multi-step procedures.
• Ability to interpret LCMS and NMR spectra for compound characterization.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize, isolate, and purify novel small molecules for projects.
• Document laboratory work in electronic notebook promptly.
• Analyze and troubleshoot chemical reactions with supervisor guidance.
• Present results to internal teams.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project milestones.
• Assist Compound Management and Automation teams with distributing compounds and operating robotic systems.
