Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Health Behavior and Society Department is seeking a Drug Checking & Community Outreach Specialist to coordinate research protocol implementation and provide administrative support for study activities.

The role includes on-site drug checking using infrared spectrometry, data collection and management, and community outreach to partners. A Bachelor's degree is required, with preference for harm reduction outreach experience and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience.
• Experience in community outreach or harm reduction is preferred.
• Driver’s license preferred for field/work site duties.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate study activities to ensure validity of findings.
• Develop operational plans with PI or senior staff to meet goals.
• Create tools and procedures for data collection and processes.
• Collect and organize data per study requirements.
• Ensure adherence to study protocols and procedures.
• Manage data entry and data organization for the project.
• Oversee budget expenditures for study operations.
• Arrange study meetings and provide status updates.
