Job summary

ReNEW Schools is seeking a Dropout Prevention Specialist to coordinate and implement dropout prevention initiatives and provide targeted intervention services for students at risk of dropping out.

The role involves monitoring ABC metrics, coaching students in problem-solving and self-regulation, and collaborating with counselors and district teams to ensure timely progress and access to post-secondary opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in a related field.
• Experience working with culturally diverse parents in an urban educational setting.
• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate dropout prevention initiatives and implement intervention strategies for targeted students.
• Monitor attendance, behavior, and course performance to address risk factors.
• Coach students on problem-solving, self-advocacy, and positive behavior.
• Meet with students to discuss discipline and attendance concerns.
• Develop Student-Centered Plans for completion and post-secondary options.
• Provide quarterly progress reports to leadership teams.
• Collaborate with school counselors and support staff to advocate for students.
