TDS Telecom is seeking a Drop Installation Technician I to perform general labor for installing fiber optic drop facilities. The role requires residence within a 60-minute drive of Eau Claire, WI and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include transporting equipment, installing drop facilities, enclosures, and handholes, labeling facilities, assisting with fiber splicing, and completing related paperwork. It may require some travel and overtime as needed.

The Drop Installation Technician I performs the general labor associated with the installation of fiber optic drop facilities. Work is performed in accordance with state and local regulations in a safe manner. Due to in‑field support and on‑call requirements, the individual selected for this position will be required to reside within a 60‑minute driving distance from Eau Claire, WI.
The associate regularly uses hands to finger, handle, or feel and to talk or hear. The associate frequently stands; walks; stands stooped, kneels, crouches or crawls. The associate must also climb poles, ladders, towers, or other structures. The associate occasionally sits, reaches with hands and arms, climbs or balances, and tastes or smells. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
