Job summary

Service Robot Co. is seeking a field technician to install, maintain, and repair drones and docking stations at customer sites in Houston. This role requires hands-on work with electronics, propulsion, and charging systems, plus the ability to document faults and repairs clearly.

You will complete an online training program through the Service Robot Co. Academy, followed by in-person instruction and industry certifications.

Qualifications

• Experience with electronics repair, RC or FPV drone building, avionics, low-voltage systems, or similar hands-on work.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults in drones, docks, and charging systems.
• Repair or replace propellers, motors, electronic speed controllers, batteries, gimbals, and cameras.
• Update firmware and calibrate equipment.
• Complete scheduled maintenance and inspections.
• Follow lithium battery procedures for storage, charging, transport, and disposal.
• Record faults, repairs, replacement parts, and follow-up work.
• Keep spare parts available and report recurring problems.
• Explain repairs and next steps to customers.

The role

• Comfort working independently at customer sites.
• Availability to drive, work outdoors, and travel overnight occasionally.

Training

You will complete an online course through our Service Robot Co. Academy, followed by in-person training and the industry certifications needed for this role. Training and certifications are free for selected candidates. Your first job is paid, with a specialist supporting you remotely.
