Safe Pass Driving School in Lyndhurst, OH is hiring a full-time Driving Instructor to empower students with safe driving skills and confidence. You will teach practical vehicle operation, schedule behind-the-wheel lessons, and communicate progress to families.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or combination of high school diploma/GED and relevant experience.
• Clean driving record; minimum 5 years licensure; no more than 4 points; no OVIs or 12-point suspensions in past 10 years.
• Ability to be licensed as a Driving Instructor by the State of Ohio.
• Experience working with teens, youth and/or adults in educational settings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver driving instruction covering vehicle operation and safety.
• Schedule and manage behind-the-wheel appointments with students and families.
• Provide high levels of customer service in person, by phone, and in writing.
• Document and report student progress and milestones.
• Maintain control of the vehicle during emergency situations.
• Contribute to classroom instruction as needed.

We have an incredible team of educators to help us achieve those goals, and to meet the demand our students have for exceptional driver education from people who actually care about their safety rather than simply preparing them to pass a 15-minute driving test, we need you.

The Driving Instructor position offers a fantastic chance for teachers, bus drivers, recent college grads, coaches, or anyone looking to make a real difference in the lives of others.

Responsibilities Include:

· Adding to our culture and mission of authenticity, inclusivity, and safety in all the ways that students should feel safe

· Delivering content and teaching practical skills related to all aspects of vehicle operation and driving

· Providing high levels of customer service and support in person, on the phone, and through written media

· Communicating with students and their families (i.e. set and keep behind the wheel appointments, convey progress and suggestions for further development, etc.)

· Using a smartphone and tablet to manage tasks, records, and calendars

· Documenting and reporting students progress

· Maintaining control of the vehicle during emergency situations

· Delivering content and instruction in the classroom, as needed

*Compensation for training is provided upon successful completion of the State-required training program and obtaining of State-issued Driving Instructor License, starting with the first paycheck after the first full week of lessons.

Education/Experience:

· Undergraduate degree or combination of high school diploma/GED and previous educational, training, and customer service experience required

Requirements:

· An ability to create and utilize effective organization and time-management processes, including the skills required to schedule and keep a calendar and to show up for appointments on-time

· A clean driving record, minimum 5 years of licensure, no more than 4 points on driver license, no OVIs or 12-point suspensions within the past 10 years

· No criminal record (must be able to pass an FBI/BCI background check)

· Ability to be licensed as a Driving Instructor by the State of Ohio

· Ability to sit for extended periods of time

· Ability to lift at least 30 lbs. without assistance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
