Job summary

MTC in Clearfield, UT is seeking a Driver's Education Instructor- Over The Road to join our center. This full-time role involves observing student driving, assisting the instructor, and supporting classroom lectures, worksheets, and discussions to prepare for the written exam and driving test.

You will work Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts, in a safe, structured environment with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and be at least 21 years old.
• Experience with youth and strong written/verbal communication.
• Valid Utah driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Over the road observation of students' driving and assisting the instructor as needed.
• Assist with lectures, worksheets, and discussions to prepare students for written examination.
• Evaluate students and determine readiness for final written exam and driving test.
• Maintain safety and a clean, organized learning environment and follow safety practices.

What you will be doing:

You’ll be responsible for over the road observation of student's driving and assisting driver's education instructor as needed, in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential functions:

• Assist driver's education instructor to prepare students for written examination through a series of lectures, worksheets, and discussions.

• Evaluate student’s performance and determine their readiness to complete the final written exam and driving test.

• Support career development services system by helping students acquire a new skill which will assist them in becoming more employable.

• Maintain accountability of students and property to maintain a safe and clean work environment and adhere to safety practices.

• Adhere to center's raining schedule of activities and events.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent and be at least 21 years old.

• Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency required.

• A valid Utah driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
