Job summary

John Deere in Coffeyville, KS is seeking a Product Engineer to design drivetrain components for transmissions and gearboxes. You will manage designs from concept to production, perform calculations, and collaborate with marketing, manufacturing, and quality teams to verify and validate products.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and hands-on use of engineering tools. You will gain development rotations in a factory engineering role and contribute to a broad set of Deere projects.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical design and analysis skills.
• Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases.

Responsibilities

• Design drivetrain components within transmission and gearboxes such as gears, shafts, castings and other components to meet performance, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations to solve design problems and develop design alternatives.
• Manage design from concept to prototype and through to full production through collaboration with other functional groups.
• Provide technical support to marketing, manufacturing, quality and supply management organizations.
• Develop and execute test and analysis plans for product verification and validation.
• Develop well rounded engineering skills by doing at least one development rotation in a factory engineering roll.
