Job summary

Empire Livestock LLC. is seeking a CDL A truck driver to move and position trucks and trailers across yard and docking areas, supporting shipping and receiving. Duties include safe operation, inspections, and maintaining clean facilities in compliance with DFA standards.

Responsibilities also cover on-site maintenance checks, route deliveries, and adherence to all relevant safety and regulatory policies. Prior tractor/trailer experience and DOT compliance are preferred for this position.

Qualifications

• Education and experience requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Tractor/trailer experience, within the last five years preferred.
• Must meet minimum age requirements and DOT requirements.
• Dairy Farmers of America Motor Vehicle Record requirements.
• Current CDL (Class A) license in state of residence; tanker endorsement if needed.

Responsibilities

• Drive truck or tractor to move, position or park trucks and trailers to support shipping and receiving.
• Transport trucks and trailers for repairs per policies and safety protocols.
• Operate wash bay using required equipment when needed.
• Keep yard neat and orderly.
• Perform trailer movement to optimize plant/warehouse efficiencies.
• Hook, unhook, and move trucks around the dock area.
• Spot or position loaded trailers for unloading/loading.
• Connect loaded semitrailers to tractors.
• Maintain accurate trailer and inventory movement logs.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections and periodic preventive maintenance.
• Ensure area sanitation and cleanliness.
• Wash exterior of trucks and trailers when appropriate.
• Complete sales route deliveries and/or over-the-road routes as needed.
• Adhere to DFA Quality, Safety, DOT, and GMP policies; report nonconformities.

Job description

Drive truck or tractor at vehicle parking, yard or docking areas to move, position or park trucks and trailers to facilitate shipping and receiving functions. Transport trucks and trailers for repairs, as necessary, according to policies and procedures and safety protocols. May also operate wash bay using all necessary equipment to clean tractors and trailers. Keep the yard neat and orderly.

• Perform trailer movement according to prioritization to optimize plant or warehouse efficiencies and production needs
• Hook, unhook and move trucks to and from the service department and around dock area
• Spot or position loaded and unloaded trailers at assigned dock space for unloading or loading
• Connect loaded semitrailers to tractors for the drivers
• Maintain accurate trailer and inventory movement log
• Follow steps to ensure proper operation and perform periodic preventive maintenance including pre and post trip inspections of equipment in the area
• Perform duties required to ensure that assigned area is sanitary and clean
• Wash exterior of trucks and trailers if appropriate for yard location
• Complete sales route deliveries and/or over-the-road routes, as needed
• Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety, DOT, and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity and accidents and injuries
• Attend all driver workshops and training sessions

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Tractor/trailer experience, within the last five years preferred
• Must meet minimum age requirements
• Meet all DOT requirements
• Meet Dairy Farmers of America Motor Vehicle Record requirements
• Certification and/or License – Current CDL (Class A) license in state of residence; current tanker endorsement if needed
