Job summary

Freedom Village in Lake Forest, CA is seeking a part-time Driver to transport residents and assist with daily tasks on campus. The driver will operate a vehicle or bus, perform pre-trip inspections and ensure safety for all passengers.

The role requires interaction with residents, guests and associates in a respectful, professional manner. Schedule is Saturdays and Sundays 8:30am to 5:00pm with on-call during the week; salary is $22.00–$23.00 per hour with DOE considerations.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid Class B commercial license with passenger endorsement.
• Previous experience working with seniors is a plus.
• Maintain a positive driving record and provide a current copy of the H6 printout from the DMV.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation services to Freedom Village residents and associates.
• Assist residents with drop off/pick up at appointments and drives to nearby locations.
• Assist residents to and from vehicles safely.
• Handle personal items including groceries and packages as needed.
• Follow safety transportation rules and communicate professionally with residents and staff.

Freedom Village is proud to be a debt free Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and has been serving seniors in South Orange County, California since 1987. Our beautiful campus includes Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing.

Drivers

• Provides transportation services to Freedom Village residents and associates
• Assists with resident drop off/pick up appointments at Freedom Village, driving residents to nearby shopping malls, medical appointments, trips and churches
• Assists residents to and from the vehicle or bus safely.
• Assists with personal items including groceries and or packages.
• Must be able to understand and follow instructions and demonstrate the ability to learn and follow all safety transportation rules.
• Must demonstrate understanding of and respect for residents’ rights.
• Must have the ability to interact and communicate professionally with residents, guests and associates.
• The Driver operates the vehicle and or bus safely, ensuring residents and passengers are safe and secured before departing. Reviews the daily schedule and map areas to prepare for the assignments.
• Completes required pre trip inspections and performs safety checks to ensure vehicle and or bus mechanical safety and cleanliness prior to operating or departure. Immediately records and reports any concerns noted to the Supervisor.

Offer of employment is contingent upon successful fingerprint clearance through Department of Justice, background check, physical exam, TB, drug screen. Covid 19 vaccination preferred, not required.
