Job summary

KDC Construction is seeking a Warehouse Worker in California to receive, store, and distribute materials. The role requires operating large vehicles and forklifts, maintaining equipment, and keeping a safe, organized warehouse.

You will collaborate with field teams to ensure timely deliveries and accurate inventory. Eligible candidates typically have 1–3 years warehousing experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to obtain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

  • Shipping and receiving inventory.
  • Maintain records of received inventory and communicate to construction personnel.
  • Review bills of lading for incoming shipments.
  • Inventory products against packing lists.
  • Organize, store, and stage products for field distribution.
  • Update and provide accurate inventory records.
  • Monitor inventory with precise records.
  • Inspect and maintain safety of vehicles and forklifts.
  • Operate company vehicle, forklift, and warehouse equipment.
  • Deliver products using moving vans, box trucks, flatbeds, and trailers.
  • Travel as needed to complete deliveries.
  • Load and unload trucks and delivery vehicles.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environment.
  • Follow Health, Safety, and Environmental program for protection.
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Warehouse Worker is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing products, materials, and equipment in Company’s warehouse facility. Handle shipping and receiving in an organized, accurate, and timely manner. This position is required to operate large vehicles and forklifts to move products around. It is essential for this position to maintain and inspect the designated equipment and vehicles. The Warehouse Worker maintains a safe, organized, and clean warehouse at all times.

Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for shipping and receiving inventory.
  • Maintains records of received inventory and communicates timely to the responsible construction personnel.
  • Reviews bills of lading for incoming shipments.
  • Responsible for inventorying products against packing lists.
  • Organizes, stores, and stages products for field distribution.
  • Assists with updating and providing accurate records of inventory.
  • Monitors inventory while keeping precise records of products stored or stocked.
  • Inspects and maintains for safety and mechanical upkeep of vehicles and forklifts.
  • Operates Company vehicle, forklift, and other warehouse tools and equipment.
  • Responsible for delivering products using moving vans, box trucks, flatbeds, and equipment trailers.
  • Travels as needed to complete deliveries to and from vendors or job sites.
  • Loads and unloads trucks and delivery vehicles using manual and motorized equipment.
  • Maintains a safe, organized, and clean working environment.
  • Responsible for working safely adhering to all aspects of our Health, Safety, and Environmental Program both for self-protection and for protection of fellow co-workers, sub-contractors, the public, and the client by supporting all Company safety efforts.
  • Performs administrative tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills
  • 1 - 3 years experience with related experience or equivalent.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of warehousing, storage, and distribution methods and procedures.
  • Experience with inspection and maintenance for vehicle and forklift safety.
  • Verified experience driving large vehicles (moving vans, box trucks, flatbeds).
  • Shipping and receiving experience including checking bills of lading for incoming shipment, inventorying product against packing lists.
  • Experience organizing, storing, and staging product for field distribution.
  • Ability to become forklift certified.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Dependable team player with strong communication skills.
